Toddlers (One Year Olds)

Our Toddler Program is for children who are approximately 12-24 months old.  (As with all our rooms, we work with parents to determine when a child is developmentally ready to move into or out of this room.)  These children are generally feeding themselves bite-sized table food and drinking out of a sippy cup, but may need some teacher assistance.  They are also walking independently.  They all nap at the same time during the middle of the day.  Their schedule provides time for indoor and outdoor gross motor play, music (singing/fingerplays and dancing), basic art, reading and free play.  They are introduced to beginning colors and shapes, as well as pictures (and the names of) familiar objects. They receive breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack (a menu is posted at the front and available for parents to take home).  Diapers are checked/changed every two hours (except during nap).  Parents receive a daily report detailing activities, diaper changes, amount of sleep, and general amount eaten.
